Make Up Artist

       Unknown to most people, Velasquez is also a master make-up artist and does her own make-up. Velasquez noticed that each beautician that was assigned to her made her look different. To make her appearance more consistent, she decided to learn the craft. She rationalized that no one else knows her face better than she does so she knew how to emphasize her own beauty. Velasquez learned what she could from other make-up artists and she studied fashion and style from various magazines that she loved to read. Her talent in sketching and painting came in handy. Her knack for experimentation also allowed her to try new looks and keep up with new trends.
 

Sketch Artist

        Velasquez is also a gifted sketch artist and painter. Her artwork graces the cover of her "Drawn" album. She has sported shirts and jeans that she herself designed, and also conceptualizes some of her gowns. 

 


This artwork graced the cover of Regine's 2nd studio album with VIVA Records called "Drawn" which was released in 1998.
 


Regine is very fond of sketching women's eyes because of the emotions from the eyes. (from sis interview)
 
 

 

Regine used to paint her own pants and shirts. Regine wore this shirt that she painted herself in her first major concert "Narito Ako"
 


 
 
Exclusive to Regine Multimedia

Regine sketched this during the meet and greet for Songbird & Songwriter @ Todai Restaurant here in Chicago which was held on April 12, 2004. You can see on the right that I actually have photos while she was still sketching and of course I was lucky enough to get the sketch when it was done since she just left it there. An original VELASQUEZ artwork, the piece now sits in my room, framed. =)
 

Tattoo Artist


Regine applies henna tattoo to a lucky audience member from Today with Kris
 

        Regine also graced an event for Judy Ann Santos' Kaffe Carabana where she agreed to be the tattoo artist for a night in 2005.

        "Mga 5 years ago siya nagsimulang maging interesado sa paghi-henna tattoo nung minsang magpunta siya ng Los Angeles. Bumili raw siya ng isang libro ng mga tattoo artworks at  yun ang ginagaya niya. Sarili niya mismo ang nilalagyan niya ng henna tattoo." (Abante)
